Communications Committee Chair:

Ruby J. Stevens

Ruby J. Stevens is a second year doctoral student in the Educational Psychology Program at the University of Kentucky. My area of concentration is Multicultural Education in K-12 classrooms. My interests include conducting action research about teacher preparation programs and professional development programs for teacher practitioners to increase teacher awareness and appreciation for multicultural education.

This is my first year participating with the Association of Black Psychologist. I attended the convention in Houston in August and gained a deep appreciation for the work of the organization and its members. I look forward to the opportunity to serve as Communications Chair. My goals for the year include increasing communications with all members through our website and listserv. I would also like to update our website to contain more information that will be useful to current and potential members. Additionally, my goal is to make monthly submissions from the Student Circle to Psych Discourse.

I would like to hear suggestions from you about communication needs and other things that may be included on the website that would be beneficial for student members. Feel free to contact me with suggestions at communication@abpsisc.org.

I hope you have a blessed and successful year!
