Le Ondra Clark
Le Ondra Clark was born and raised in Southern California. Le Ondra received her B.S. in Psychology with minors in Quantitative Research and African American Studies from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. Le Ondra received her M.S. in Counseling from the Department of Counseling Psychology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
While at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, Le Ondra has worked as a teaching assistant in the Women’s Studies department. She has worked as a research assistant to Dr. Earlise Ward in the school of nursing. She has also been employed as a teaching fellow for the Advanced Studies in Equity and Cultural Competence program supervised by Dr. Hardin Coleman.
Le Ondra is the current Jegnaship chair for the ABPSI Student Circle. She is also a student representative for Division 35 (Section on Black women) and Division 45 (Section for the Psychological Study of Ethnic Minority Issues) of the American Psychological Association.
Le Ondra is a licensed professional counselor and practices at the Mental Health Center of Dane County where she treats children, adolescents and families. Le Ondra also facilitates a group for African American women with AODA and mental health issues. One of Le Ondra’s long-term goals is to establish comprehensive mental health facilities in disenfranchised communities.
Le Ondra’s research examines how racism affects mental health as well as the barriers that racial and ethnic minorities encounter when seeking mental health treatment. Le Ondra is a 2007 Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Fellow of the APA’s Minority Fellowship Program and has won awards for her research on barriers and racism from APA’s Divisions 17 and 35.
