Membership Benefits

Welcome from the President of ABPsi

Welcome to the Association of Black Psychologists (ABPsi)—a sacred space where we honor our Ancestors, reclaim cultural wisdom, and work toward the liberation of African people worldwide. Rooted in the spirit of Ubuntu—“I am because we are”—we stand united in our mission.

Since 1968, ABPsi has been a guiding force in the science of African/Black Psychology. Central to our work is the groundbreaking scholarship of ABPsi, which has expanded the understanding of African-centered psychology and contributed to transformative practices that heal and support individuals, families and communities.

Your membership is an act of solidarity with a global movement sustained by the wisdom of our Ancestors. Together, we retrieve our narratives and work to restore balance and justice for future generations. I encourage you to fully engage in the opportunities ABPsi offers—from healing circles, certification in African/Black Psychology, and professional development programs to community-centered initiatives and our inspiring annual gatherings.
Let us walk this path together, guided by the principle of Odo Nnyew Fie Kwan—“Love never loses its way home.” Thank you for your commitment to this sacred work.
